Command Sergeant Major Eric G. Crabtree

Distinguished Member of the Regiment

Background: CSM Eric Crabtree entered the U.S. Army in July 1986, attending Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia. CSM Crabtree's first duty station was at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii where he served in a COHORT unit. CSM Crabtree has served in numerous light infantry, Airborne, and Air Assault units, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Brigade Combat Teams in the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. CSM Crabtree also served in the 509th PIR, the Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group Task Force 1, and the Leader Training Program.

CSM Crabtree has served in all leadership positions from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major. CSM Crabtree is a graduate of all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System culminating with the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class #57. CSM Crabtree's other military training includes Ranger School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, and Special Operations Interdiction Course (SOTIC).

CSM Crabtree participated in Operation Desert Storm with the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry, and completed five combat tours since September 11, 2001: Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)-1, OIF-4, OIF-7, Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 10-11, and most recently OEF 12-13 as the CSM of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

Awards: Legion of Merit, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, Bronze Star Medal (with four Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with four Oak Leaf Clusters), the Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd Award), the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Senior Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge
