Close up of the wonderful attention to detail that the artist James Dietz puts into his work

What always sets James Dietz artwork apart from all others in my opinion is that he does not make the aircraft or vehicles the central focus with expressionless Soldiers scattered about, rather every Soldier expresses some emotion which draws your attention in and makes a connection with the viewer.

Veteran John DeVanie was one of the Pathfinders who jumped into Southern France and served as President of the 509th Parachute Infantry Association at the time of the dedication.
