Command Sgt. Maj. Timothy L. Metheny completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, to become a cavalry scout and was a platoon sergeant in Dog Troop at 1-509th. Other previous assignments include Deputy Commandant of the Fort Knox Noncommissioned Officer Academy, CSM of 3-8 Cavalry, and Commandant of the Henry Caro Noncommissioned Officers Academy. His operational deployments include three Operation Iraqi Freedom rotations in Iraq and a Humanitarian Assistance Deployment to New Orleans in support of Hurricane Katrina. He was the CSM of the Maneuver Center of Excellence in Fort Benning from 2015 to 2017 and was inducted into the Order of Saint Maurice for this outstanding contributions to the Infantry. He has also been inducted into the Order of St. George and is a member of the Excellence of Armor. In 2017, CSM Metheny became the 4th Infantry Division Command Sergeant Major and Fort Carson senior enlisted leader.
