SUMMARY OF SERVICE:
As a retired Infantry Colonel and currently serving as a Family Medicine Physician, Stephen Sittnick has achieved many accomplishments in his service to the country and to others. Steve earned his commission from The Citadel in 1977 and his academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel, a Master of Arts and Science in Strategy and Operations from The United States Army Command and General Staff College, graduate of the Army War College, and a Doctor of Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. He graduated from Via Christi Family Medicine Residency and is a Board Certified Family Physician by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is also a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Doctor Sittnick served 26 years in the military in multiple assignments, to include the 509th Airborne Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, 9th Infantry, and the 101st Airborne Division. He deployed on Combat Operations with the 82nd Airborne in Operations Just Cause and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After retiring at the rank Colonel, he attended Medical school and completed a residency in Family medicine. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine with the University of Tennessee, St. Francis Family Medicine Residency.
Doctor Sittnick and his wife Cava have two children, 1LT Sally Myers and Cpt. Mack Sittnick.
