SUMMARY OF SERVICE:
LTC Tisdale served with the 1st Battalion, 509th from 26 February 2002 until 31 May 2005. He was the Battalion Adjutant and Assistant S3 before becoming commander of Delta Troop. When the commander of B Company was injured in a training jump shortly before the deployment to Iraq in 2004 LTC Tisdale, then a captain volunteered to step in as Company Commander for the deployment. In the weeks prior to the deployment he was promoted to Major and offered a Battalion level job but chose to stay with the company for the deployment. Attached to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry of the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division Major Tisdale constantly joined his men on patrol, leading from the front.
LTC Tisdale served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in the 2nd Battalion, 18th Infantry and the Battalion Maintenance Officer in the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia. Subsequent to his time in 509th he served as an Assistant O/C in the JRTC Operations Group. He served in HQ XVIII Airborne Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom as FUOPS Planner and as Executive Officer in the 1st Squadron, 38th RSTA in Fort Bragg and Operation Enduring Freedom. He also served as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the 525th BFSB and Commander of the 525th Special Troop Battalion.
