Intersection north of Sadzot, Belgium looking east. This was the jumping off point for the 509th attack on 28 Dec 44 around 0330.; B Company was on line in the ditches on the south side of the road. C Company with Dick Fisco as lead Scout came down from the town of Clerheid on the ridge north of the road and crossed the road heading south on B Companies left flank.

The machine gun platoon had also been set up at this intersection referred to as the Erezee, Grandmenil, Sadzot intersection with DeChastain, Mims and several others manning the gun.

Building and open fields on west side of Sadzot, Belgium. While B Company was moving along the road. A Company was approaching the town from the west using the concealment of the trees and moving through the buildings seen at the edge of the field.

Open fields on east side of Sadzot, Belgium.  These are the fields in which the B Company 87th Mortar Battalion had their 4.2 inch mortars emplaced when they are attacked by the Germans.  The low ground going left to right to the trees on the right is where the C Company 509th advanced toward Sadzot.
