This crest is depicted in the 504th Parachute Battalion graduation annual from 1942. It is uncertain as to its origins or whatever became of it. It is similar to the 501st crest. When the 504th Parachute Battalion was redesignated 2nd Bn 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment (then later 2/509th PIR) it does not appear that they carried this crest forward. Original colors are not known at this time.
