Headquarters Seventh Replacement Depot Personnel Center, Special Orders #268 Transported From Bizerte, Tunisia, North Africa Italy on LCI(L) #229. Paragraph #1 on Sailing List #240 is relieved from attachment from 5th Replacement Battalion, 7th Replacement Depot and transhipped to 509th Parachute Infantry through Personnel Center #6

22 Jan 1944 - Participated in Opeation SHINGLE the amphibious invasion of Anzio, Italy

25 Jan 1944 - Wounded in Action - A Company report - Received scattered enemy artillery and small arms fire during offensive route march. No casualties, Sent four man patrol to contact B Company on left flank, patrol fired on by enemy, wounding Private [William] Foster. Patrol neutralized machine gun position, killing one enemy. Contacted B Company.

According to family - leg was amputated due to wounds

29 Sep 1944 - Honorably Discharged
