SUMMARY OF SERVICE:
PFC Justus F. Patrick, served in the 509th PIB during WW2 as
a paratrooper. He joined the unit after the landing at Anzio, Italy as a
replacement, helped push the Germans north in Italy (Battle of Rome), and
parachuted into S. France during Operation Anvil. Possibly wounded in Southern France. He also was at Sadzot, Belgium
when the 509th went up against the Waffen SS in the Bulge (he was wounded in
this battle according to US Army records, leaving the 509th then being
reassigned to the 82nd ABD). He name is mentioned in the book, ''Stand In the
Door!''.
