17 Jul 1945 - Repatriated, liberated by the Russians in 1945 (2nd Belorussian Front)
"After the liberation he was in pretty bad shape and suffered from "anemia of the internal organs" He went to Florida for R&R at a hotel with several other Ex POW's. After the war, the Army went on a massive hunt through the enlisted ranks to find soldiers with extremely high intelligence. He was one of 10 men chosen to serve with the 430th Counterintelligence Command in Vienna, Austria to to investigate the massive flow of immigrants filtering down from Germany. He served from 1947 until his death on 13 March, 1950. He is buried in the Baton Rouge National Cemetery."
