A 509th mortarman is about to drop a M43A1 Light High Explosive 81mm round down the tube while another sights in on aiming stakes and makes the necessary adjustments. The M43A1 round could range out to 3,290 yards and had a 25 yard frag radius. Venafro, Italy November 1943
